Silver Queen Silver Sunday

Nothing I mean nothing......beats NJ Corn.
We'll be hittin' the road on Silver Sunday heading to the beaches of the garden state.

We'll be grabbing some Silver Queen Corn, en route, at my favorite stand Red Top Market. It's the halfway point between home and the shore, at least that's what my parents told us growing up as we stared out the back window of our 1970's station wagon whining...."are we there yet?".

Living in NJ does have a few perks especially during the summer months of abundant and fresh fruits and veggies and quick spur of the moment trips to the beach.
I'm  so spoiled, to be able to run up the street locally to my other fav. corn hot spot and grab corn, red juicy 'maters or peaches whenever I please and believe me that's quite often.
What's your favorite summer veggie or fruit.
Have a wonderful silver sunday and be sure to hunt down some sweet summer silver queen then check out the other silver sistas.
                      hugs,
                          Beth

  6. Our silver queen corn is just about ready to be picked. YAY! I love veggies and fruit and grow both, so it's hard for me to choose only one as a favorite. ;)

Have fun at the beach, Beth.

  7. Oh how nice that you still have Farmer's Markets close by. We used to have roadside stands all over the place, but as Urban Sprawl has edged them out they're fewer now & many Orchards & Vineyards have been cut down and Farmland replaced by Malls & seas of cookie cutter subdivisions... *Le Sigh*, but thankfully a few Farms remain. My fav Seasonal items are the fresh Citrus and Melons grown locally and often still hawked fresh roadside.

  8. Hello Beth,
I am really late but happy, that Mr.Linky still accepts participation. I was busy on a market and so I link my recent post, including some silverware and a fabulous silver coffee pot.Your silver queen corn looks really tempting. Thank you so much for hosting this nice event.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  9. Ahhh Yes, but what about Lancaster County, PA. corn? Wonderful too. We like you, are so fortunate to have roadside stands of lovely produce grown by our Amish neighbors. We had a wonderful salad last night for dinner with local grown vegis. I would say we are all lucky. I am happy to have found your blog.

  11. I lived in NJ as a child and I remember the sweet corn and all the other fresh veggies we would get at roadside stands. You are right, nothing beats NJ corn on the cob!
