Well, as some of you know, I really stink at keeping quiet! But I did, I kept my swap partner a secret!

 I was sooooo excited when I got my goodies my first impulse was to post about it ....woops had to wait!  So I just called Jill and gushed about my goodies...after all she's the only other person who knew, thanks Gypsy pal...great choice! However she did give me a stern warning to keep my mouth shut....ha ha

Come on when I like something I have to share it, don't you?

So finally here ya go....what I've been waiting for....

 Fluttering with anticipation I opened up my box.  Packed with vintage pattern paper and pretty ribbon there were 3 packages piled into the box...bits and bobs, pretty lace a beautiful card, doilies, trim a sweet little tin filled with jewelry findings...

....a dainty little bundle of vintage lace....soooo perfect.

Then the creme de le creme....my gorgeous, beautiful rosette,

attatched to this most fabulous taupe bag lined with taupe mattress ticking...my absolute fav. material...

Thanks Deb you really made my day....

This little beauty will surely be traveling to Texas with me at the end of the month!

Just took a  peak at my planner and HOLY Texas round up! It's just about 1 month away that I'll be packin' up and heading out the open fields of Antique Week!!!!

Honestly I've been trying not to think about it too much(like that works)because, those butterflies that well up in my stomach when I get completely, insanely excited...tend to stop me from doing anything else I need to do. So I thought I'll do a quick post and get a little excitement out of my system...then get back to work!

This is my biggest Texas wish......

...are you listening Jill? "if have to wait in line allll day to get into the Magnolia Pearl booth then that's what I'll do!" I'm drooling to experience in person Robin's amazing and magical designs.  I can only imagine the creative engery swirling about her tent! If I can wait in line all day for a computer on black friday...this will be a piece of cake...because I know the prize is sooooo much better and Round Top sure beats the best buy parking lot!

This East Coast yankee is headin' to Texas....yippee...here I come! See you there!

Flea Market Friday!

ummer is starting to wind down and I had to seriously be sure to hit my favorite Thursday hot spot this week.  I only have one more Thursday morning visit left, then it's back to school....oooh did I say that out loud? Ooops,  I keep telling myself I'm not going to stress.....ok done, no, stressing about school starting anymore!

So here's the story...I love top hats, but, I've never found one at market, at least one I could afford.  Just a few weeks ago our host Kecia, beat me out on one.....argh! She got there just a titch earlier than me that day.....she looks awesome in it though!   But not today.....I was cruising the tables and admiring this beautiful opera cape....(gorgeous black velvet trimmed in white fur) I spun around and there it was gleaming in the sun....

So I completely lost my composure and snatched up this felted 1954 top hat! I think the vendor could have asked a huge price, as it was so obvious that I "had to have it"! However she was sooo nice and gave it to me for a mere $18! Woo hoo! Finally I was the early bird....

I think if I had stopped shopping at that point I could have gone home with a giant grin on my face. But of course I didn't leave, I loaded up my cart with lace and buckles and tons of vintage fabric!

 I never did run into Kecia (I did text her to tease about getting the hat though...hee hee)  Met up with  Jill and goofed around  a bit...then headed home with my coveted top hat!..

 

This top hat obsession of my mine has led to a some really good thing happening  lately.....so I've incorporated my good news into my Silver Sunday giveaway gift! Flea Market Friday

Didn't make it out to the flea this week but...I thought I would share a favorite bounty. Collected treasuures from a quick stop at a flea I was passing by on my way to run the dreaded grocery shopping, bank, etc... errands.  Sorry family....let's see..flea market vs errands..hmmm which one do you think I put off....

 

...don't worry I got to the store eventually supper was just a little late that day that's all.

Sometimes it's just those out of the way unexpected adventures that have the best treasures!

It's Vintage Black Friday over at the French Cupboard today and Flea Market Friday over at Kedcia's place...hope you all can play along.

Today I'm sharing 3 of my favorite finds....my favorite two giant black cement urns I got for a song at an auction a few years back.

These were one of those auction finds that I thought, "no way will I win these, I'm gonna get out bid right away" so I had kind of resigned myself to that fact and stood there almost feeling defeated before the bidding even started. I couldn't believe it, no one was bidding...I jumped in suddenly feeling determined  again, I think the other bidders just chimed in because they were going cheap....but guess what? I won! I won! I won! the pair for only $35...I did the happy dance and skipped away to get the truck!

 I got the little urn from the flea market...just love looking at it, as it sits beside the front door keeping my scarlet begonias safe and happy....
