Did you think I was hibernating with all the critters of the forest....well not quite.

Some days I wish ...but, there's no time for that...

We landed a spot at the Philadelphia Home show two weekends in a row.....whew I feel like I've been on a whirl wind of schlepping, unpacking and repacking. Then bumping right up to those two weekends was the final barn market sale for the season....we'll be back in March. So now it's time to take a breather. Well, my kind of respite that is......squirreling away in my attic studio and cleaning out my brain of all the projects and ideas that have been trying to bust out over the past 2 months.
Here's a few new ones I've been kicking around....

As I head into the new year my heart is full after spending a glorious week with the two most magical children in the world. I don't think anything can top a week long visit with my pixies of Tennessee.

Accidental beauty......

I told you I was taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the past week. So during my Silver Sunday respite my plan was to wander over to Pennsylvania and watch my sis and her hubby tackle a 5k Run. I did that......and as usual they were awesome. I think it was mostly because my sis is a spry little pixie and felt at home in the forest as she sprinted past her towering giant of a husband who didn't do so bad himself.

While waiting for their triumphant arrival I stumbled upon this unexpected beauty in the woods. I found it magical and mystical albeit sad at the same time. A fallen beauty in the woods.......

I even found a Beauty Berry bush in the rubble

Coming off the rainiest month we've ever had here on the East Coast it's been hard to stay inspired when the dreary days seem to drag on forever.

But,there's always a silver lining....you just have to know where to look....

Silver Queen Silver Sunday

Nothing I mean nothing......beats NJ Corn.

We'll be hittin' the road on Silver Sunday heading to the beaches of the garden state.

We'll be grabbing some Silver Queen Corn, en route, at my favorite stand Red Top Market. It's the halfway point between home and the shore, at least that's what my parents told us growing up as we stared out the back window of our 1970's station wagon whining...."are we there yet?".

Living in NJ does have a few perks especially during the summer months of abundant and fresh fruits and veggies and quick spur of the moment trips to the beach.

I'm so spoiled, to be able to run up the street locally to my other fav. corn hot spot and grab corn, red juicy 'maters or peaches whenever I please and believe me that's quite often.

What's your favorite summer veggie or fruit.

Sorry So Late Silver Sunday

You must be thinking that the "lazy days" of Summer are catching up with me. But.....they're not....it was actually an "early bird catches the worm" kinda day...so although I was early at the flea market and late on Silver Sunday posting, I think you'll see it was all well worth it.

I found a huge lot in a box this morning...all for a mere $40....can you believe it?

Here's a few highlights from the bunch....

....a sweet little creamer lined with enamel.

....a topless sugar bowl with a "B" on it. I think I 'm starting to come down with "keep-it-itis" again.

How 'bout this little surprise a "July 1929" loving cup. I'm already decorating for next year thinking my little vintage American flags would love to live here.

When life gives you keys......make earrings!

My pent-up creativity finally has had a chance to run free. The school year is over....and now it's time to start bringing to fruition all those ideas that swirl around in my head for 10 months a year with nowhere to go. I have to admit it was getting a bit full in there...bits and pieces of thoughts flying around everywhere....it was really not a good place to be.

Since it's vacation time I thought it would be appropriate timing to use us some of the luggage keys I have piling up. I created a new line of vacation earrings. Ready to unlock your adventurous side this summer? Check out more of them in my etsy shop.

I also have delved into the piles of yummy fabric that I have been collecting for years to "use someday". So I threw myself together a summer bag....I've been using it for a week now and I have to say it's almost like carrying around your blanky....so soft and easy on the shoulder...I found myself hugging it at the movies theater the other night. Not so sure I should have divulged that but, oh well it's out there now.

This family-friendly event includes a 3-mile (approximately 5K) walk, live music, refreshments, raffles, jugglers, balloons and face and hair-painting. Unique to this walk are the designated Pink Porches that dot the route, where walkers can stop to enjoy a variety of pink refreshments and live music. Cost: $25.00 adults, receive a commemorative T-shirt; $5 children ages 6 to 12 accompanied by an adult, children 5 and under no charge. Fear of Sterling ?

I finally broke out the sterling wire and threw caution to the wind, shut my eyes and went for it. I've had it stashed for so long. I don't know why but I've always had a fear of using my expensive sterling wire. Maybe it's a confidence thing, fear of messing up and wasting this precious metal? I think I am just worried that I won't like the piece and then I'll feel like I wasted it...who knows.

I seem to do this alot. I pick up cool elements for jewelry then I chicken out when it comes time to use it. So I thought to myself this is silly, just get your butt up there and use what you have! So I did it, I wire wrapped like crazy even made my own ear wires and I have to say.....I'm glad I faced my fear!

I also dug up a really cool huge bag of 1960's bohemian beads during my earing making frenzy. Not quite sure what they're made of, thought maybe plastic but texture's not quite right, feels like a light wood but I don't think so, I'm still not sure. All I do know is that they're really cool. Muted colors and funky medallion shapes, lots of fun to play with.

Heading back up to the studio to get lost in my sea of sterling.....what will you be doing this weekend?

I Just stumbled on this really funky blog hop Metal Saturday over at Freckled Laundry.....thought I'd give it whirl since I have a passion for collecting funky metal pieces and of course tarnished silver~

I perused through my photos and found some really cool pieces I had forgotten I had...loads of metal pics...oh and yes it's official, I really do love me some metal!

I also love metal findings for my jewelry designs......the older the grittier the better.

Now, I couldn't do a post involving metal unless I told you one of my obscure idiosyncrasies ... although heavy metal music is a far, far cry from what I listen to regularly I am a secret Metallica fan yes, there I said it. I can't believe I said it, but there it is...cat's outta the bag.... I clean my house while rockin' out to the brash loud and invigorating voice of James Hetfield, really I do! and I love it!

So here's to the metal in my life....tarnished and all!

Silver Vessels

We can all envision a beautifully set holiday table adorned with the finest silver sets of teapots, sugar bowls and alike but have you ever thought of other uses for found mismatched bundles of silver vessels?

Here's a few ideas for those single pieces often found tucked away in boxes, yard sales etc...

...piece of cake...easy low maintenance succulents are hardy and never seem to mind what type of vessel they inhabit.

add a bit of glam and romance to your studio with pincushions made from topless sugar bowls....so risqué.

another one of my favs for old silver trays are simple elegant black boards. Check out the tutorial on my friend Jill's blog and let your imagination go.

After a wonderfully successful and fun filled weekend at the Gypsy Market (check out the link to see all the fun) I think it's time to get back in touch with reality. While scurrying around for the past several weeks in anticipation of the Gypsy Market I was neglecting my laundry, dishes, dinner preparation just your basic take care of STUFF kinda stuff etc..etc...,(not that I missed that part of my life...ha who could miss doing dishes?)But in the process of excusing myself from basic chores I also set aside my tri-weekly jaunts with Mr. Fish so, I decided it was time to get back on the walking track.

We generally try to get in at least 45 minutes of walking at our secret ,sweet spot on the Delaware River. There's a nature/bird preserve just a few blocks from our house that we frequent. I took a few photoshots today of a the locals who were out and about as well.

We pass by this billboard on the way home, it has just recently appeared at the base of the bridge(we're right across river from Philadelphia) not quite sure why it's here but there's something so intriguing about it. No words, no advertisements it just simply sits there on the highway amongst the traffic lights and asphalt.

Just thought I'd share it with you....

What do you think? Can't quite figure....but I love the contrast to the busy rush surrounding it.

Welcome to March Silver Sunday!

Lot's of changes going on this month. Spring is coming, clocks are changing and new adventures are setting forth. My gypsy soul craves change, I can't sit still for too long so this is the month for me!

No sooner do I start to dread the cold dreary days of the winter's bleakness when a 60 degree day pops up and sunshine abounds....fresh warming sunshine!

I start to get that itch...you know the one I mean , the I gotta redecorate, I gotta shop , freshen things up get out of the doldrum type of nudgy itch.

Spring is coming and the bees are starting to buzz....seriously one zipped right by my head out in the yard today.

So I thought I would reveal just a little bit more of what has been keeping me sooo busy lately.

As some of you know I run a monthly market with my Gypsy buddy Jill.

Recently we were given an offer we just couldn't refuse....

so we didn't.

We're moving the market!

We're heading 1 block West and back into my old shop...formerly known as Gypsy Fish.

This is just a sneak peak of what's to come.

Now, before the hustle and bustle of packing and moving I had previously started an online class...designed to hone in on the foundation skills and techniques of jewelry making.

Basically I've become a manic freak for using a torch, making jump rings, clasps and putting together all kinds of crazy stuff.

I love learning new things really gets me inspired!

Thank goodness we'll be getting another hour of daylight next week...I could sure use it or 2 or 3 or 4.

Well I've gotta fly to pack a few more boxes, maybe make some earrings,maybe take my son driving, maybe paint some furniture, oh wait I have to call Jill, email's need to be answered, dog needs to go out, husband's hungry, what! it's dinnertime already?...........................bye!

Oddly Addicting

Have you seen the show Oddities on Discovery Channel?....I just can't get enough! I stumbled upon it a couple months ago and I think I've seen every episode....it's just jaw dropping how bizarre some objects and people can be....I love that this it what makes the (my) world go 'round.

Right before the show aired I actually visited Obscura where the show is filmed in the East Village while visiting my sister. It is the tiniest little space filled with the most amazing objects, rarities and curiosities. Every time you turn around you see something different.

creatures, masks and mannequins peaked out from all corners....

If you're ever in NYC you really should stop in and pay Mike and Evan a visit.

Then the other day I was shopping at my local flea and I ran into one of the stars of my new favorite show! It was Evan and she was snatching up a the coolest hare or Jack rabbit. She said it was going to be the Easter display at the shop...can't wait to see that episode.

Don't get me wrong I do love to bake. I just never seem to get to it as much, unless it's a birthday and I throw together a cake. Wow, as I write this I'm realizing I've become pretty lame in the baking department.

No more first day of Spring cake, shamrock cupcakes, Valentine cookies, Yule logs, homemade sticky buns for Christmas morning (the yeast kind), Banana bread...just because the bananas are going brown, or zucchini bread because I have an overabundance growing in the garden.....darn I don't even do the veggie garden anymore. Okay it's official I have become a lame-o baker, since all but one of my birdies have left the nest.

I'll have to go with store bought sweets today.....
here is my contribution to the Porch Club bake-off....does this count? Seriously they're so yummy!...maybe even good enough to open a chain of doughnut shops...hmmmmm?

I could make excuses and say that I was going to bake today but had so much work to do on the new...project(details coming soon) but, I won't. Only half of that statement is true. I never intended to bake today......

A couple of cold kiddos on the porch....well not at my house today!

Hanging out with the grandbabies today we had a sweet Valentine treat...don't they look darling?

Gypsy Grandbaby number 1...enjoys every bite, every sip of her hot chocolate with marshmallow fluff and a decadent cookie in her neat and lovely mannered way...

...and then there's Gypsy Grandbaby No. 2...well let's

just say she thoroughly enjoys a good cookie dunked in hot chocolate, even if it's coated with marshmallow fluff.

Joining Jill on the Porch

Hello all from snow bound NJ............

I'm joining Jill on the porch today, all be it a snowy one.

... standing on the front porch looking out into the street...15" of SNOW!

That is what I woke up to early Thursday morning. A beautiful blanket of white laying gently over the whole town...nothing is more peaceful than sipping my coffee enjoying the peace and quiet of a snowy morning.

Well, that lasted all of 20minutes, the dog needed to out. He's a geriatric lab with shaky hips at best....so, out came the boots,gloves, hat and shovel. Jumped in full force in my pajamas.

Ummmm....do you know that 15+ of snow is not so easy to shovel especially with an impatient old dog waiting for you to clear a path to the yard. Let's just say...that was just the beginning of the clean up.

Within a few hours the peace and quiet had turned to shovels, snowblowers and plows. We've been cleaning up for days now!

Now it's 4 days later and I think I have a severe case of cabin fever and couch potato-itis. So to feed my fever, or is it feed my cold, never really sure which, I concocted this yummiest of delights.

So grab a porch swing and listen up....it's easy, it's healthy and (beware) it's addicting.

Roasted Root Veggies

1. First you'll need any, and as many, root veggies you like. I use, in no particular measure, sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts and butternut squash. Peel and coarsley chop.

2. Grab Grammas cast iron skillet, and the golden ingredient....Wegman's Basting Oil

drizzle this precious elixir over the cut up veggies you've spread out in the skillet, toss and pop the whole thing in the oven at 475degrees. Roast for at least and hour or more depending on how crunchy you like your veggies. Your taste buds will thank you for this...and just think it's entirely healthy!

Well, Turner Classic Movie channel is why. Nothing is nicer to me than curling up super early on a cold winter Sunday morning with a hot cup of coffee and catching a good old Black and White.

Sets me soaring to tackle the bleakness of a winters day.

Although I'll watch just about anything on the classic movie channel and anything Jimmy Stuart here a few of my all time favorites. Some absolute classics and some not so much. A strange collection yes, but then again consider the source.

Can't even count the number of times I have watched this one. Love it love it love it!

The Secret of Rhoan Inish

This is a little known film. Sweet Irish folk tale of the secret of the Selkie. Check it out when you can.

....ahh...one of my all time favorites for escaping into a fantasy world to gather up inspiration. A collaboration of: Terry Jones(Monty Python), George Lucas, Wendy and Brian Froud, Jim Henson's Creature shop and then starring David Bowie....just can't be topped.

Practical Magic

.....and of course my fav. of all time. Everyone needs a little practical magic in their lives...don't ya think?

Just wanted to stop in and share what I've been working on with my NEW camera and the bits of new found time since the Christmas rush is through.

I've been holding up in the studio especially since we had a fair amount of snow dump out of the sky on Sunday night here in NJ. Had an urge to create so I just disappeared all day Monday and stayed in my pj's woo hoo......nothing better than coffee, studio, music and pj's allllll day long!

I got to finally use the new G12(love it love it love it) today and photograph the fruits of yesterday's labor for my etsy shop....hope you like.

Silver Sunday in NYC

~Welcome to December Silver Sunday~

We jumped on a shiny silver greyhound (bus) and traveled a quick hour and half and landed smack dab in the middle of the shiniest city in world...NYC.

First stop before sleep..Bryant Park

We started our Bright and shiny morning at Old Good Things

.....flew across town to ABC Home

I know this isn't silver but I just had to share ....

We came across this super shabby pair at ABC which I found very curious. As most of you know I am soooo not into perfection, old worn and love pieces are right up my alley ....however, I think this is taking it to the extreme.....

.....then I saw the price!

Oh, the matching chair was a mere 1095.00 in case you're interested......

Well, after a bit of sticker shock and a quick cup of coffee

we stopped in at Anthropologie for a bit of fun

...now I know what to do with all those radiators we have left from the renovations.

off to SoHo for a little Shabby Chic Couture...

I fell in love with these little vintage paper bells at Shabby Chic! What an awesome place. I think I could have just lived there! Have a wonderful Silver Sunday be sure to check out the rest of the party goers posts.

Feels like it's been so long since I've posted anything with substance on my blog .....so why start now, except to say that I am sorry! Bad blogging is becoming a bad habit for me. I never seem to comment back to any of you, I'm always posting on the fly ....so I am making my New Years Resolution early this year....get on the blog-wagon and start being a better blogger.Ahhh, now that I've made my resolution early I should have just enough time to get through the holidays and rev up for some bloggy conversastions, posts with substance, meaning and humor and most of all replies to the supportive and wonderful comments you all leave me.

So mark my words, as a promise to you all I WILL be a better blogger in 2011!

Until then I will try my best to check in as much as possible....

Texas was certainly grand and nothing less than amazing....so amazing in fact that my pictures don't do it justice. I think I was in such awe and culture shock this first night that I just didn't stay behind the lense enough. I was too busy looking wide-eyed in wonder at all the "real" blogger sisters I was meeting! .....feeling a bit star struck.....

I mean here I was in real time, in Texas during the hight of antique week at Theresa Cano's blog party, staying in a beautiful B& B with Polly and Steve of French Cupboard.....I had to keep pinching myself to be sure it wasn't a dream.These people ARE real and when I say real they're beautifully down to earth real good folk~

.....well here's part one the Blog Party! (again my photos are few of this event....I was having waaaay too much fun to stop and take pics....note to self: you'll regret not stopping to take pictures, make time!)

We flew in to town roamed a bit and got dressed in the parking lot and headed to the party...

EXCUSES, EXCUSES......

It was a bitter sweet goodbye today as I gathered and packed all the girls to say so long, fairwell,

Auf Wiedersehen........

After several months of soldering, cleaning, dremmling, glueing and tieing the order is complete and my tiny german girls are headed out(no pun intended) to the Anthropologie wharehouse.

Anthro. will be offering these sweet little doll heads in their Holiday catalog due out in the end of October.

Can you believe it? Anthropologie....I'm still pinching myself.

hence my excuse for bad blogging....I know I've been terrible with responding to comments and fresh postings, not that I am one to make excuses, but, I thought maybe in this case, you all would make an exception.....

I've got to say how grateful I am for all the help along the way and give a shout out to my family especially mom and dad who were part of the "chain gang" and yes that pun was intended, without all of their help I couldn't have pulled this off any more smoothly. It's been an amazing learning curve for me and I've learned alot! A little more involved than I ever imagined, from copywriting designs to invoicing big companies....but I will say it was all so worth it! So there you have it...my adventures in big business...

Now on to the next one MARBURGER FARMS!!!!! Look out Texas....the Jersey Gypsy Girls are headed your way!

Happy Flea Market Friday and VBF and Vintage Inspiration Friday!

I'm boohoo-ing this week...... just a little.... like baseball season Thursday morning fleamarketing is a seasonal sport for me.

Last week was my final Thursday morning excursion until Spring break 2011. Thursday's are my favorite day to flea, somewhat peaceful, less crowded and not so rushed but, alas, I'm now confined to Saturday and Sunday shopping with the masses....ho hum.

Here's some scenes from the final episode.

I bumped into some barn market neighbors....

The Riverton girls were out and about loading up with goodies.

So I piled the granny cart as full as it would go, circled back and picked up a few more things then waved goodbye to some of my favorite vendors....

even though it was a bit sad saying goodbye..... I have to share the most fabulous, better than my last flea market find, spectacular, vintage, black silk top hat.....I don't think it was ever worn just amazing! I am so

inspired by these beauties....what would life be without a little magic and mystery?

Can you believe it two weeks in a row....two top hats? This happened to me before...I always wanted a silver loving cup champagne holder....didn't find one for years I mean I looked for years! Then one day, poof! I found one and in that same week I found 3 more. Same deal with the top hats....always wanted one, never found one, then poof! 2 in a row....wonder what I should wish for next?

So finally here ya go....what I've been waiting for....

Fluttering with anticipation I opened up my box. Packed with vintage pattern paper and pretty ribbon there were 3 packages piled into the box...bits and bobs, pretty lace a beautiful card, doilies, trim a sweet little tin filled with jewelry findings...

....a dainty little bundle of vintage lace....soooo perfect.

Then the creme de le creme....my gorgeous, beautiful rosette,

attatched to this most fabulous taupe bag lined with taupe mattress ticking...my absolute fav. material...

Thanks Deb you really made my day....

This little beauty will surely be traveling to Texas with me at the end of the month!

Just took a peak at my planner and HOLY Texas round up! It's just about 1 month away that I'll be packin' up and heading out the open fields of Antique Week!!!!

Honestly I've been trying not to think about it too much(like that works)because, those butterflies that well up in my stomach when I get completely, insanely excited...tend to stop me from doing anything else I need to do. So I thought I'll do a quick post and get a little excitement out of my system...then get back to work!

This is my biggest Texas wish......

...are you listening Jill? "if have to wait in line allll day to get into the Magnolia Pearl booth then that's what I'll do!" I'm drooling to experience in person Robin's amazing and magical designs. I can only imagine the creative engery swirling about her tent! If I can wait in line all day for a computer on black friday...this will be a piece of cake...because I know the prize is sooooo much better and Round Top sure beats the best buy parking lot!

Flea Market Friday!

ummer is starting to wind down and I had to seriously be sure to hit my favorite Thursday hot spot this week. I only have one more Thursday morning visit left, then it's back to school....oooh did I say that out loud? Ooops, I keep telling myself I'm not going to stress.....ok done, no, stressing about school starting anymore!

So here's the story...I love top hats, but, I've never found one at market, at least one I could afford. Just a few weeks ago our host Kecia, beat me out on one.....argh! She got there just a titch earlier than me that day.....she looks awesome in it though! But not today.....I was cruising the tables and admiring this beautiful opera cape....(gorgeous black velvet trimmed in white fur) I spun around and there it was gleaming in the sun....

So I completely lost my composure and snatched up this felted 1954 top hat! I think the vendor could have asked a huge price, as it was so obvious that I "had to have it"! However she was sooo nice and gave it to me for a mere $18! Woo hoo! Finally I was the early bird....

I think if I had stopped shopping at that point I could have gone home with a giant grin on my face. But of course I didn't leave, I loaded up my cart with lace and buckles and tons of vintage fabric!

I never did run into Kecia (I did text her to tease about getting the hat though...hee hee) Met up with Jill and goofed around a bit...then headed home with my coveted top hat!..

This top hat obsession of my mine has led to a some really good thing happening lately.....so I've incorporated my good news into my Silver Sunday giveaway gift! It's Vintage Black Friday over at the French Cupboard today and Flea Market Friday over at Kedcia's place...hope you all can play along.

Today I'm sharing 3 of my favorite finds....my favorite two giant black cement urns I got for a song at an auction a few years back.

These were one of those auction finds that I thought, "no way will I win these, I'm gonna get out bid right away" so I had kind of resigned myself to that fact and stood there almost feeling defeated before the bidding even started. I couldn't believe it, no one was bidding...I jumped in suddenly feeling determined again, I think the other bidders just chimed in because they were going cheap....but guess what? I won! I won! I won! the pair for only $35...I did the happy dance and skipped away to get the truck!

I got the little urn from the flea market...just love looking at it, as it sits beside the front door keeping my scarlet begonias safe and happy....

Double dipping in the party department today......I've joined up with two great parties...showing off my flea market finds over at Kecia's place then showing off what I made with some of them over at the French Cupboard...

I absolutely love old condiment caddies....I like repurposing them and adding fresh flowers to the jars making a spectacularly dramatic centerpiece.

....this week was all about the little stuff gobs

of it....jewelry, lace tins and these beautiful silver plated basket...oh boy...I've got keep-it-itis AGAIN!

So what do you do with all this stuff?

Well, lately besides revamped jewelry I've been into altering antique bottles. Did you ever stumble across something that just fits? I think this is one of those things for me....I could sit and add elements, wrap wire, tie lace and play with solder ALL DAY! These bottle are just one of those projects that is so much fun to do and because not one is exactly the same....I don't get bored and flit off to another corner of my studio and start something else in the middle. I really enjoy making them!

While playing catch-up yesterday....I developed a severe case of "keep-it-itis" and here's how it happened along with a list of symptoms to watch out for.

There's just something about warm, fresh, flowing air with no humidity that gets me going on long neglected lists, like a mad woman. So, since yesterday was one of those weather days....I went to town, painting my backed up pile of furniture. A few pieces for customers and a few for the barn market.

I pulled out several little tables I had stashed in the basement. Getting crazy with my brushes and after several hours, coats of paint and distressing (now pay attention this could happen to you) I started getting light headed, I think I began to hallucinate. My thoughts began to wander, my heart began to race. I started decorating in my head, all thoughts were starring the cutest little table ever....I recognized these symptoms immediately, "Crud! I've got it again!" KEEP-IT-ITIS

Now, the biggest problem with this affliction is that the only cure is to KEEP IT.....and that's just not an option right now.

When I got this little piece the only redeeming qualities it had were price and sweet little dangling drawer pulls. The finish was hideous an now, as it turns out it was a diamond in the rough and I want it in my house!

So I thought I would try this home remedy, maybe, if I just post a picture of it on white Wednesday, it would be "kinda" like keeping it and maybe I'll be cured...I think it's working, well for now. Do you ever get keep-it-itis?

Flea Market Friday

Yesterday I spent a few hours ALL-BY-MYSELF picking thru my favorite flea and it was rejuvenating! The place wasn't crowded, the vendors were ready to make deals and the pickin's were great!

A giant splash of cool, blue water...that's definetly what I was craving about the time I snapped this photo. Even though it's miles away from my taste...it just looked so refreshing and inviting in the red, hot sunshine.

Standing out in the middle of mid century modern furniture and plastic beer signs...this drum caught my eye (I think it's that psychometry thing happening again) the funky energy coming from this piece captivated me....a coool hippy drum...totally "diggin" it. Decoupaged, worn leather straps, zodiac signs....flower power at it's best! My hot, fried, brain imagined it strapped to a funky free spirit dancing and singing through the summer of love.

Happy VBF.....stumbled across this beauty at Renninger's Extravaganza last week...isn't it so cool.

I can just picture bug eye'd goggles, long black riding gloves and a sheer scarf just blowing in the wind....freedom of the open road...too bad it doesnt have a side car for all my flea market finds....tee hee

...and here's the creme de la creme of black vintage finds...my fish chair...check out the carved fish on the back...I just had to have it!All it cost me was, shall we say, minimal as well as having to bring the vendor a cup of coffee when we came back to get it...imagine that, he wanted coffee on a 95 degree day?

Car Traveling......

Wow! it's hard to believe it's already been two weeks since school let out...time is a funny thing...I've found that when you dwell on not having enough you're wasting it! In the past two week it's just amazing what I've managed to pack in....simply due to frame of mind. 

It all started with our annual father's day (car)camping trip. We abandoned this tradition several years ago.... not really sure why. Well, after this glorious laughter filled weekend the tradition is back!!!! We camped in Maryland at the state park with the Chesapeake on one side and Elk River on the other....beautiful green and lush and oh, so relaxing!

....another little road trip took us to Maryland again!

My sweet niece and her new family are renovating a gorgeous old house(well, gorgeous if you see the potential and I so do!) This ancient beauty comes equipped with fabulous widow frames(no panes), sweet flowering weeds in he back yard, perfectly weathered clapboard siding, all natural ventilation system(air flows freely through the holes in the floors and siding), vintage plumbing (none to speak of),mice, snakes, and several familes of bats nesting in the eves and loads of .....potential! I envy their spirit and talent to take on this project....can't wait to see it complete! It's going to be amazing!

...and finally just last week I sneaked away for the day to Pennsylvania farm country and visited The Renningers Extravaganza with my best gypsy pal Jill You can see more of our adventure here.

Where Bloggers Create

Welcome to my little attic studio!

So this is how it all started... it's been a work in progress for over a year now...so I thought The "Where Bloggers Create" party would be the best place to finally unveil my 99.9% finished studio....
This is the burnt orange beginnings....this room was screaming for transformation! Don't ya think?

Phase two...lasted almost as long as our winter did this year.....very very long... my little attic world didn't have any working heat yet, so progress was short at times...had to keep running up and down and warm my piggy toes. Thank you Mr. Fish for getting the heat up and running.

Now finally...Ta dah......

A little paint and alot of STUFF and here's the final result. You may notice that I'm not really great at storing things neatly away or out of sight....I think it's an affliction that I have and I have had all my life(you should have seen my bedroom growing up, or maybe not)....gotta love Mr. Fish for putting up with my "grown up girl" clutter!

There's nothing like starting a project and being able to leave it right in the same spot and have it stay there until you get back....ahhhhh no gremlins to move my stuff or take my tools.
Finally having a space of my own to feed my head and spur my creativity is truly a god send.

These are a few of the projects I have completed since I have had my own space.

June Silver Sunday!

Welcome to the June edition of Silver Sunday! It's amazing how time is flying by and how quickly the silver mercury is rising with each day as we get closer and closer to my favorite time of year. Summertime!

Not only because I love my summer vacation but because it's flea season! No, not doggy fleas, jukin' fleas!

Being off in the summer enables me to feed my Thursday flea addiction...hooray!

This is just the time of year I start to get a little crazy...time to gather new collections. Me, like I'm sure of a lot of you, can't just seem to buy one of something. "You never know when you might need another".

So here are few of the silver oddments and whimsies I've collected simply because I had to have more than one.

Monopoly hats.....why have one when you can have dozens?

Lovely zinc canning jar lids....yes, I will surely need these some day!

A dozen sugar bowls and creamers without lids....very important when one has aspirations of making funky pin cushions.

I bought a bike! I bought a bike and it's the "best bike in the whole world"!

See I'm short and beach cruisers are big...what's with that? Well this little vintage beauty is just right! Actually it is the same type bike I got when I was six and started riding a two wheeler...imagine that...did my legs NOT grow? When I saw it at the flea I felt just like Pee Wee Herman when he finally found his stolen bike......the angels sang, the spot light shined bright and I just had to have it!

Now I just need to dig up a cool basket and find a farmers market in biking distance and I'm all set.

I did make it to a farmers market this past weekend (but not on my bike)

where Jill and I did a fab show in Collingswood NJ. It was huge! Vendors by the tent loads, food,

farmers market, bands, games, more food.....

I wish I had more pics to share but I was so busy ditzying around all over the place, setting up and chatting with all the visitors that wandered into our tent...I just couldn't settle down to take more pics.....maybe if we're lucky Jill will post some of hers...she's much more focused than me(oh, no pun intended)...tee hee!
